Vocal AuditionsAuditions for the 2011-2012 season of Chicago Master Singers will be held on the evenings of Tuesday, May 31; Wednesday, June 1; Monday, June 6; and Wednesday, June 8, at the Countryside Unitarian Church at 1025 N. Smith St. in Palatine, Illinois. It may be possible to audition at other times of the year. To inquire about scheduling an audition, contact us at the email address or phone number below. Chicago Master Singers, under the direction of Alan Heatherington, is a 130-voice choral ensemble featuring singers from Chicago and suburban communities. CMS has performed great choral masterworks in collaboration with professional soloists and orchestras since 1979. If you are a dedicated singer interested in CMS, we want to hear from you! We will contact you to answer your questions and schedule an audition time. Audition Requirements:You may sing a prepared piece of your choice, and this is recommended. Please bring three copies of the music. Otherwise, you will be asked to sing a familiar song provided for you at the audition. A pianist will be provided to accompany you. You will also be asked to vocalize and sight-read an unfamiliar piece. RehearsalsCMS rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Countryside Unitarian Church in Palatine beginning August 22, and also on Tuesdays and Thursdays of concert weeks. Performances in November, December and April take place in the beautiful Chapel of the Holy Spirit at the Society of the Divine Word in Techny (near Northbrook).
